We are a dynamic research team focused on the design, synthesis, characterization, and spectroscopy of advanced solid-state materials. Our laboratory specializes in understanding the fundamental self-assembly processes of surfactants and utilizing these principles to engineer novel nanostructured and mesoporous materials for next-generation applications in energy, catalysis, and beyond.

Our group bridges the gap between fundamental physical chemistry and applied materials science. By manipulating self-assembly mechanisms, we engineer high-surface-area materials optimized for specific electrochemical and structural performances.

Our core research pillars include:

Lyotropic Liquid Crystals: Investigating surfactant self-assembly in various solvent environments, mapping phase behaviors from salt-in-water to water-in-salt regimes.

Mesoporous Materials Synthesis: Developing scalable nanoarchitectonics for producing highly ordered, mesoporous transition-metal oxides and phosphates.

Electrocatalysis & Energy Materials: Exploring the synthesis and rigorous characterization (using techniques like XRD, FTIR, SEM, and BET) of targeted mesoporous structures—such as mesoporous magnesium metal oxides and nickel pyrophosphates—specifically tailored for enhanced electrocatalytic applications and Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) performance in alkaline media.

Recent Publications

Our team frequently publishes in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals, driving forward the conversation in inorganic and physical chemistry.
