Muratcan Ös successfully defended his M.Sc. thesis, “Two-Salt Surfactant Mesophases: Synthesis of Mesoporous MgM2O4 (M = Co, Fe, Mn) Electrodes and Their Electrochemical Properties.” Over the past two years, he worked on Mg(II)-M(II)/M(III)-C12EO10-CTAB mesophases, as well as the synthesis and characterization of mesoporous MgM2O4 materials.
He joined the Dağ Group during his third year, completing his senior project in the same group on mesoporous lithium metal phosphates before continuing on to earn his M.Sc. degree. His findings shed light on the feasibility and stability of mesophases containing magnesium nitrate and transition metal nitrate salts. The resulting mesoporous MgM2O4 thin films demonstrated high OER efficiency and low overpotentials.
A manuscript regarding these findings is currently in preparation.
We wish him every success in his future endeavors!
